In a swift action,the Hulimavu police caught three kidnappers and opened fire at two of them,when they tried to attack police party in a bid to escape.
The accused identified as Gurumurthy,Gopal krishna had kidnapped 13 year old Nischith,while he was returning from the tuition.
The accused took him to an isolated place in Bannerghatta killed him before burning his body.
The accused later called the father demanding Rs.5 lakh ramsom anxious parents who were frantically searching for Nischith and later found his abandoned bicycle near a park had filed s complaint with the police.
Few hours later the police found the charred body after a man who went to fetch his buffeloo grazing in the area noticed the body and alerted the police.
Ina swift action the police formed a special team and Based on CCTV footage to find Nischith had been picked up on Bike.The police followed the leads before zeroing in on Gurumurthy.
M Narayana,DCP Electronic City Division said,Based on a tip-off,a team from the Hulimavu police station inspector kumaraswamy BG with PSI Arvind and his team conducted an operation late at night and They located the suspects hiding in the Kaggalipur forest.
When the accused tried to escape by attacking the police with a dagger,the Hulimavu police sub inspector,Arvind opened 2 rounds in air and asked him to surrender but to evade the accused again tried to attack the PSI in self defense the PSI fired on his both legs and injured him.
Meanwhile another accused Gopal Krishna also attacked the Inspector,Kumaraswamy BG and tried to flee but in self defense he too opened fire on another kidnapper and injured him and both are being treated hospital.
M.Narayana,DCP Electronic City Division further said that Gurumurthy was working as part or spare driver with achuth father of Nischith,working as lecturer at Private college.Gurumurthy was also know to Nischith mother and used to visit home often.
The police have rushed the injured accused to the hospital and waiting for their recovery to question them .
Though prima facie probe revealed that the crime was due to extorting ransom the police are verifying to ascertain any other possible reason for the crime .
