Confusion over DCP Soumyalatha’s posting with the SIT to probe Dharmasthala mass burial case as two days after Home minister dismissed the reports that none of the officers sought relief from the duty, He said that he came across the information that one of the officer wanted excuse citing personal reason.
Reacting about the confusion,G.Parameshwara said that he is aware about Ms.Soumyalatha communicate that she wanted to excuse herself from being part of the SIT citing personal reason.However it is not officially communicated yet.
If there is such issue she will be replaced,he said.
While some reports indicated that two members of the SIT had sought to be excused from the investigation citing personal reasons,Parameshwara said no such request had officially been made.
Mohanty also met the home minister on Monday before formally taking charge.“I haven’t given Mohanty any instructions.He just met to express his gratitude for giving him the job and said that he will do it,” Parameshwara added.
The state government considering the demanded from various sections of the society formed SIT on Saturday to investigate allegations of mass graves in and around the Dharmasthala temple town.
The SIT named,Pronab Mohanty,Director General of police (internal security division)with by DIG (recruitment) MN Anucheth,DCP,CAR,Soumyalatha SK and Jitendra Kumar Dayama,SP, ISD.
The Home department also announced the name of 20 police personnel as supporting team and directed the official concerned to provide logistics including required office and vehicles for the SIT team.
