The Soladevanahalli police on Monday arrested a group of nine youth who assaulted and tortured a 19 year-old student after disrobing him in an isolated place recently.
The accused are: A Shivashankar,20,of Sheshadripuram; Yashvanth Patel, 20,of Ganapatinagar; N Hemant,18,of Nelamanagala;S Salman Khan,23,of T Dasarahalli;Rahul M,20,of Ullal;Tejas S,18;Rakesh R,21,both residents of Hesaraghatta;and N Shashank Gowda,19,of Yeshwanthpur.
Police are looking for Hemant,Surya,and Vishal,who are elusive.Of the arrested,Salman Khan is a lab technician while the others are students.
One of the accused recorded the video of the victim, being beaten up and tortured which went viral promoting the police to swing into action and arrested the accused.
According to the police the victim was in relationship with a girl and she broke up for another boy.
Dejected victim allegedly harassed her by messaging her the girl complained other male friend who along with his associates called Kushal for talk and abducted him to an isolated place where he was tortured and assaulted after forcing him to disrobe.
The shocking incident that’s reminiscent of the sensational Renukaswamy murder case involving Kannada actor Darshan,an engineering student was kidnapped,stripped and forced to run naked by a 12-member gang in the backdrop of a love affair that ended in breakup.
All the nine accused has been arrested and released on bail the Soladevanhalli police have filed a petition in court to cancel their bail as it is a serious and heinous offence so we have filed a petition in court to cancel their bail Seemanth Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police told reporters.
The 19-year-old was assaulted on his private parts in front of his former girlfriend—a minor,at whose behest the attack allegedly carried out.
