Residents of credence lora apartments in Begur shocked after they found a human skull and bones from one of the percolation pit in the apartment complex in Mico Layout during the cleaning process on Monday.
Based on the complaint filed by Skariya John,president of resident welfare association,the Begur police have registered a case of un natural death and sent the collected skull and bones for forensic analysis.
The police are awaiting a report from the expert which could provide more details including the age of the deceased before furthering the investigation.
In his complaint john said that the association has given a contract to clean up 16 percolation pits in the apartment.
While cleaning one of the pit,the workers alerted John who in turn informed the police.
Going by the recovery of skull it looks like the incident happened many years.It was very surprising how the association or residents get not get to know about it ,a senior officer,said.
Mr.john in his complaint said that the percolation pits were not working for which the apartment complex getting notices from the authorities concerned.Hence it was decided to clean up the pit to make it re usable,he said it in the complaint.
