In a case of hot pursuit,the Jalahalli traffic police on Monday tracked down a 32-year-old truck driver who was speeding away after knocking down a couple killing their three months old baby boy on Sunday night.
The victims Micheal his wife Sara and their child Mac Adams were returning home to Ejipura on motorcycle after visiting relative when an unknown truck knocked them down on MES ring road near Kuvempu under pass.
While the couple escaped with minor injuries Mac Adams sustained severe head injuries and rushed to MS Ramaiah hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
The Jalahalli traffic police rushed to the spot and analyzed over 50 CCTV footage to follow the truck to Sadahalli toll gate.
The police with the assistance of toll booth staff obtained the registration number of the truck and found that it was heading towards Telangana.
With the help of AP counterparts intercepted the truck which had covered 970 kms away.
The accused identified as Ismail, native of Mewat in Haryana was brought back to city along with the truck .
He was booked under death due to negligence,rash and negligent driving for further investigation.
