Administrator Tushar Giri Nath has directed officials to use cold mix and eco-fix materials to promptly fill potholes in the city.
Addressing a meeting held today at the BBMP Head Office with officials on various matters,he emphasized the need for swift action in addressing potholes across Bengaluru,especially during the rainy season.
He instructed officials to make use of cold mix and eco-fix materials to ensure rapid repairs.
In all 8 BBMP zones,local contractors must be engaged to procure the required asphalt and complete the pothole-filling work promptly.He also instructed that a daily report on pothole filling progress must be submitted.
*Complete Ongoing Road Asphalting Works:
Road asphalting projects worth Rs.690 crore are currently underway within BBMP limits.He instructed that these works should be completed at the earliest without delay.
*Address Waterlogging on Roads:
During the monsoon season,waterlogging is expected at 82 key locations across the city,leading to traffic congestion.
To address this,he directed that necessary steps be taken to prevent water accumulation on roads,and ensure smooth water flow into side drains.
*Monitor Flood-Prone Areas:
Temporary measures must be taken immediately to prevent issues in the 44 flood-prone areas in the city. Simultaneously,suitable long-term solutions must also be implemented,he directed.
BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao added that during the monsoon,priority must be given to flood-prone areas and locations that experience waterlogging.
He instructed officials to resolve issues in such areas on a priority basis to prevent any public inconvenience.
The meeting was attended by Special Commissioners Dr.K.Harish Kumar,Suralkar Vikas Kishor,Avinash Menon Rajendran,Preeti Gehlot,Naveen Kumar Raju;Zonal Commissioners,Sateesh, Ramya,Ramesh,Karigowda, Snehal,Digvijay Bodke;Joint Commissioner of Police ( Traffic) Anucheth;and all Zonal Joint Commissioners, Chief Engineers, and other concerned officials.
