The Lokayukta officials on Saturday conducted search operations across the state on the residence and offices of the seven government officials and recovered valuables worth over Rs.24.4 crore from them which are disproportionate to their known source of income.
Based on the complaints regarding their corrupt practices,the Lokayukta police wing conducted a detailed probe before launching the search and seizure operation simultaneously at over 33 places including in Belagavi,Bagalakote,Ballari,Davanagere,Udupi,Gadag and Dharwad.
Raids were also conducted at the residences,offices and residences of the relatives of the concerned accused Government Officers .
Names of the accused officials and the seizures are :
Siddalingappa Ningappa Banasi,District Manager,D Devaraj Urs Development Ltd,Suvarna Soudha,Belagavi. The officials searched three places and recovered movable and immovable properties including four Sites, one House,Cash Rs.18,260 and valuables worth Rs.34.6 lakh .
Shrishail Subhash Tatrani,FDA,Local Audit office, Bagalakote Dist,The officials searched four places of the accused officials and recovered documents related to three sites,six Houses and 6.3 acres of Agricultural Land, Rs.21 lakh worth valuables,Rs.45.6 lakh worth vehicles with total worth of Rs.2.9 crore worth valuables .
Amin Muktar Ahammed,Superintendent Engineer,PWD, Ballari District Five places belonging to the accused officials were searched to recover 31 Sites, 2 Houses, 5.3 acres of Agricultural Land,cash Rs.79 lakh,Rs.47 lakh worth valuables,Rs.10 lakh worth vehicles with total amount of Rs.7.3 Crore .
Ramakrishna Balappa Gudageri, PDO,Baada Grama Panchayath,Shiggavi Taluk,Haveri Dist.Officials searched two places belonging to the accused and recovered two sites,one house and 9.7 acres of agricultural land,Rs. 79,500,Rs.8.5 lakh worth ornaments,Rs.13.5 lakh worth vehicles and Rs.10 lakh worth household articles total worth Rs.1.18 crore .
Girish Rao,Accountant,MESCOM,Karkala,Udupi Dist. Officials searched five places belonging to the accused officer and recovered documents related to 5 Sites,1 House,1 Commercial Complex,Rs.30.2 lakh worth valuables,Rs.9.5 lakh worth vehicles along with Rs.1.2 lakh worth mobile phone total worth Rs.2.8 Crore .
Gangadhara Veerappa Shirol,Planning Director,Nirmithi Kendra,Gadag Dist,Gadag.Officials searched seven places belonging to the accused official and seized documents pertaining to 4 Sites,7 Houses-3.2 Acers Agricultural Land, Rs.27.5 lakh worth ornaments,Rs.17.3 lakh worth vehicles,Rs.21.2 lakh worth bank balance with total worth Rs.3.3 Crore .
H Suresh,Chief Engineer,PWD(Northern Zone) Communication and Building(N),Dharwad. Officials searched seven places belonging to the accused and recovered 2 Sites,2 Houses,6 Commercial Shops,11.3 Acers Agricultural Land cash Rs.76,600,Rs.23.9 lakh worth of ornaments,Rs.26 lakh worth vehicles,Rs.1.6 crore worth bank balance,Rs.25 lakh worth household articles with total worth Rs.5.3 crore .
