*Only Bengaluru in Entire Country Faces Two Types of Taxes,This is Uncivilized.

In addition to the garbage cess,a user fee has been imposed on Bengaluru residents.Opposition Leader R. Ashoka demanded that the government withdraw this decision and revert to charging based on square footage as before.

Speaking to reporters at BBMP,he criticized the Congress government for burdening Bengaluru residents with excessive taxes.

He accused them of devising a scheme to extract revenue from garbage. He claimed that Congress imposes the highest garbage tax in the entire country.

While Kempegowda earned the title of Nadaprabhu for building the state, Congress leaders have earned the title of those who ruined it,he remarked.

Previously, the city had a cess. Now, a user fee has been added alongside it.The cess alone collects around Rs 250 crore.

While the garbage tender is valued at ₹147 crore, excessive fees are being collected from the public. With the user fee,the collection could reach ₹500-600 crore.

He questioned whose homes the government intends to ruin by collecting such a large sum.

He argued that either the user fee or the cess should be collected, but Bengaluru is being burdened with both. This will increase house rents, as well as rates for commercial buildings, marriage halls, hospitals, schools, and hotels. One tax will lead to an increase in all rates.

He accused Congress of looting Bengaluru residents, claiming they use the excuse of a central government law, even though no central law mandates imposing two types of fees.

*Hold a Meeting with Representatives;

He urged the government to convene a meeting of Bengaluru MLAs to discuss this issue.Previously, the garbage cess was based on square footage, and that model should be reinstated.

No other city imposes such high fees, and this is an uncivilized move.He alleged that such taxes are being collected to fund Congress’s five guarantee schemes and demanded the decision be withdrawn immediately.

He noted that Bengaluru residents have already started protests, and they will receive full support. He claimed that the state’s financial situation has deteriorated due to the guarantee schemes, and efforts are being made to reduce the number of beneficiaries.

Only those who voted for Congress will benefit from the guarantee schemes, he alleged.

He called Kamal Haasan a“madman”and said that despite getting opportunities in Kannada cinema, Haasan’s derogatory remarks about Kannada make it clear he is an urban Naxal.

He urged all Kannadigas to boycott Kamal Haasan and prevent him from entering the state or screening his films. He demanded the government take action on this matter.

He also raised concerns about rising terrorist activities in the coastal region, stating that a“murder-for-murder” mentality is not good.

He recalled protests when Hindu activists were killed and accused the government of appeasing certain groups and failing to maintain law and order.

Such incidents are happening because the government is supporting communalism, he alleged.
