The Begur police have arrested a gang of three stealing batteries of the vehicles parked on roadside.
Based on the complaint filed by a SUV owner,the police track down the accused identified as Surendra Kumar, 33, from Rajasthan,working as labourer in city and his associates Tousif,30 and Arifulla Khan,50.
The trio used to move around the residential area and steal batteries of the vehicles and sell them to junk yard in city market .
With their arrest the police have recovered 24 batteries of different types of vehicles worth Rs.11.5 lakh from them and solved 8 theft cases reported in and around the city .
