CCB officials on hunt for a man who was selling fake degree certificates of different universities

The Central Crime Branch officials have stepped up an investigations to track down a man who was selling fake degree certificates of different universities.

The racket came to light after a city based media house based on a tip off conducted a sting operation and found that the accused Mohan from Sunkadakatte was selling the education certificates of different degrees including B tech,B phamra and even LLB from different colleges across the country .

It was a brisk business and the accused was selling the certificates to the people like hot cakes, a senior officer, said adding that people who approached him just had to pay money without admission or attending class and name the course.The certificate with all the seal signature and even logos will be ready within few days “, he added.

The sting operation was carried and purchased eight to ten certificates starting from high school to professional course like B tech,BCA,LLB, B.com and BSc from colleges in Uttar Pradesh,Himachal Pradesh,Uttarachal states and in schools of Hubballi in Karnataka .

Many beneficiaries have even obtained jobs using this certificates at a private firms.The police suspect that the accused some more people along with Mohan are involved in the racket who are linked to the colleges which are under the investigations.

This is not the first time,the CCB had even last year busted similar racket and arrested a gang involved in printing and selling fake degree certificates to the people for money in city .

In January 2023,the CCB officials arrested a man during raids on five institutions for selling fake university degree certificates for the past many years.

As many as 6,846 fake certificates of 15 reputed universities,22 laptops, one printer,computers and 13 mobile phones were seized from him.

Based on a tip off the CCB team had raided three software firms and two fake colleges,(Quest Technologies in Rajajinagar, System Quest in JP Nagar, Arohi Institute in Bhadrappa Layout,Vishwajyoti College in Dasarahalli and Benaka College in Vijayanagar )run by the prime accused identified as Vikas Bhagwat.

It was a systematic racket operated to hoodwink the policer and also to carry out their business to print and sell fake degree certificates from various universities from Bangalore University, Annamalai University, Sikkim University, Venkateshwara University and Mangalore University.
