The cottonpet police have cracked the murder case of a home alone woman and arrested her relatives who strangled her to death to rob valuables to recover the loss they had incurred in a scam.
The victim Latha,50,native of Bidar and residing in dargah mohalla,welcomed the accused when they visited her home and served them snacks .
After having snacks the accused strangled her to death and escaped with the cash and gold valuables.
The accused Shivappa and Purandar are distant relatives used to visit Latha once in a while.
The accused had incurred huge loss in a rice pulling scam and wanted to get back the money badly.
The duo was from Bidar and worked as electricians in a private company.
After much deliberation they zeroed in on Latha.As per the plan they came to the city by bus and visited her house.
The husband,who owned a readymade garment shop in Upparpet had gone to work.Her daughter had gone to work while son had been to school.
The accused after the murder returned to bus stand in an autorickshaw to take the bus back.
The police after the murder obtained some clues about the assailants including CCTV footage and followed the trails.
The police have taken the accused into custody to ascertain their claim for further investigation.
