The Adugodi traffic police have arrested a cab driver who created ruckus in an inebriated state and crashed into a barricade and series of vehicles near Jyothi Nivas college in Koramangala in the early hours of Sunday.
Two people including a police constable on duty escaped narrowly with minor injuries when the car knocked them down and crashed into a barricade jumped the divider and crashed into several vehicles.
Panic gripped among the people who ran helter skelter to save themselves.
Enraged passers by chased the car and stopped the car asking the driver to come out.
But the accused was adamant,the police smashed the window to pull out the door and dragged the accused.
He along with the car was handed over to the police.
The accused later identified as Nanda Krishna was booked under dangerous driving and drunken drive and let off on station bail
The police have seized his car for further investigation.
Motorists demanded the police to launch drunk drive checks especially on weekend as Koramangala and parts of the CBD areas like MG road and indiranagar including Koramangala have become hub of the pubs bars and restaurants said a senior officer.
