The Basaveshwaranagar police have registered an assault case against delivery executive for allegedly assaulting a customer in front of his family members over a row over wrong address .
Based on a complaint filed by Shashank S,a resident of Judges Colony,the police charged the accused identified as Vishnuvardhan.
According to the FIR,sister of Shashank’s wife ordered groceries on a quick commerce platform on Wednesday afternoon.
Vishnuvardhan was assigned as delivery partner by the application.When he reached the location,the sister-in-law of Shashank went to collect the order.
“He scolded my sister-in-law in a high pitched voice and when I intervened,he abused me and attacked me with his hands.He punched me in the face and injured my left eye,”Shashank alleged in his complaint.
He told police that the suspect didn’t stop even though he tried to escape from the latter.Shashank claimed that he went to eye hospital after the attack and took treatment for the injury.He filed a complaint after that.
Basaveshwaranagar Police have booked Vishnuvardhan under BNS sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(criminal intimidation) for further investigation.
The police have summoned the accused for questioning.
