Basaveshwaranagar police arrested a quick commerce platform’s delivery boy in record time who had allegedly attacked the customer for updating an inaccurate address for delivery.
The suspect,Vishnuvardhan,a resident of Vijayanagar, was interrogated and later let go on station bail.
Vishnuvardhan is a second PUC student and works as a delivery executive part time.
Shashank S,a resident of Judges Colony in Basaveshwaranagar,had filed a complaint on May 21, hours after the incident.
According to the FIR,the Shashank sister-in-law ordered groceries on a quick commerce platform.
Vishnuvardhan was assigned as delivery partner by the application.When he reached the location,the sister-in-law of Shashank went to collect the order.
“He scolded my sister-in-law in a high pitched voice for giving an inaccurate address and when I intervened, he abused me and attacked me with his hands.He punched me in the face and injured my left eye,”Shashank alleged in his complaint.
Police have booked Vishnuvardhan under BNS sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of trust).
Vishnuvardhan claimed that Shashank spoke to him rudely and also indulged in an argument but Shashank has dismissed the former’s claims.
