Labourer turned drug peddler arrested by cantonment railway police and seized 4.6 kgs Ganja

The Cantonment Railway Police have arrested a 23-year-old labourer red handed carrying 4.6 kilograms of Ganja in a Prashanthi express coming to the city .

The accused was caught as soon as he got down at the cantonment station and walking with the bag on the platform suspeciously.

Assistant Sub Inspector Ravi R,who was on rounds, noticed the accused trying to get out of the station hoodwinking the checks and confronted him.

Upon checking his baggage Mr.Ravi recovered the contrabands neatly packed in the bag.

Probe revealed that the accused Sridhar Kisan,native of Keonjhar village in Odisha and working as daily wage labourer in the city .

The accused said that he would source the drugs from his contacts and sell it to the customers to make extra money .

The accused has been booked under NDPS Act and remanded him to judicial custody .
