BBMP Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao has directed officials to deploy enumerators to areas with higher Scheduled Caste (SC) populations and ensure the prompt completion of the ongoing comprehensive SC survey.
Addressing a virtual meeting held today regarding the Scheduled Caste Comprehensive Survey,he instructed the Zonal Commissioners to oversee the survey work daily across all 8 BBMP zones and to take appropriate measures for its timely completion.
In coordination with the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka,the duration of the comprehensive SC survey within BBMP limits has been extended until May 28.
Officials have been instructed to complete the survey within this extended timeframe.
Secretary Member of the BBMP Coordination Committee and Special Commissioner (Welfare) Suralkar Vikas Kishore emphasized the importance of conducting the survey effectively and completing it without delay.
He advised officials to deploy additional enumerators in zones where survey progress is lagging to accelerate the process.
*Survey in Three Phases:
The BBMP SC comprehensive survey is being conducted in three phases:
Phase 1will be door-to-door survey by enumerators and it will continue until May 25; Phase 2 will start from May 26 until May 28; special survey camps will be conducted within survey blocks and Phase 3 will start from May 19 until May 28.
Individuals may also self-declare their details through an online portal.
*Survey of 74,844 Scheduled Households:
A comprehensive survey of Scheduled Caste households is actively underway across the 27 Assembly constituencies within the BBMP limits.
As of 5:00 PM on May 18, 2025,a total of 8,114 enumerators have been deployed to carry out the survey.
So far,data has been collected from 74,844 Scheduled Caste households and 17,87,235 non-Scheduled Caste households.
*Request for Public Cooperation:
Citizens are urged to cooperate with the enumerators visiting their homes by providing the necessary documents for the SC survey being conducted across the city.
