It has come to light that approximately 66,400 applications have been submitted within BBMP limits requesting electricity connections from BESCOM.
As per the Supreme Court’s order dated 17-12-2024 in Civil Appeal No.14605/2024 (arising out of Writ Petition No. 46342/2013),utilities such as electricity,water supply, and sanitation connections are to be provided only to buildings that have obtained an Occupancy Certificate/Completion Certificate from the respective local authority.
In light of this Supreme Court directive,BBMP will reach out to applicants who have requested electricity connections within its limit via SMS and phone calls.
The purpose is to collect information regarding the acquisition of ‘A’ or ‘B’ Khata from BBMP,approval of building plans,and the status of application (submitted/to be submitted) for the Occupancy Certificate/Completion Certificate.
The BBMP Chief Commissioner urges the citizens of Bengaluru to furnish the requested details and to apply for the Occupancy Certificate through a registered Architect/Engineer using the following online portal:
