Taking a strong exception against fake news peddlers and rumours mongers on the ongoing Operation Sindhoor and the development at the border areas,city police commissioner warned strict action.
Speaking to the media after the monthly service parade at CAR south on Friday, B.Dayananda said that he had instructed the divisional heads and the staff to be alert and monitor the social media to contain rumour mongering to debunk with the facts the rumours and take the members of the general public into confidence .
Due to this there are rumours that people are resorted to hoarding essentials and the police officials concerned that been instructed to monitor such activities and take strict action,he said .
He further requested that the people should restrain from believing rumours and fake news being circulated on social media .
There is a general alert regarding the development and necessary precautions and security cover has been taken up .
