The Lokayukta officials on Friday trapped Assistant Engineer of BBMP along with his associate red handed while accepting a bribe of an official favour .
Based on the complaint filed by Sunil Patel,resident of Nagadevanahalli,the officials caught Bharath,30,a tout who was accepting the bribe from Sunil on behalf of EE Narasimhamurthy Naik.
Based on his confession the officials arrested Naik and charged them under PC Act .
According to the officials the accused have issued notice to Sunil for damaging the drain and threatened to foist a case against him and slap a hefty fine.
Sunil when approached the accused they demanded Rs.10 lakh to drop the charges .
After negotiation the amount was brought to ₹ one lakh. Unable to pay the bribe, Sunil approached Lokayukta and filed a complaint.
