Enhanced Security Measures at Key Railway Stations in SBC Division by RPF and GRP

The Railway Protection Force (RPF),South Western Railway,Bengaluru Division and Government Railway Police successfully implemented heightened security measures at all major railway stations across the division.

This enhanced security arrangements are being done under the directives of the Ministry of Railways,aimed to assess and strengthen the preparedness and response mechanisms of Railway Protection Force against potential threats and emergencies.

In view of the drill,the RPF in SBC Division undertook the following enhanced security measures:

-Intensive checking and surveillance at entry and exit points of major stations including KSR Bengaluru, Yeshwantpur, SMVT, Bangalore Cantt,Krishnarajapuram, Yelahanka,Bangarpet, Mandya,Satya Santhi Prasanthi Nilayam, and other stations.

-Deployment of Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and increased patrolling in and around station premises and conducted flag march.

-Random baggage screening using handheld and stationary scanners.

-Increased CCTV monitoring through integrated control rooms to track live station activity.

-Mock threat scenarios were enacted to evaluate the coordination among RPF,GRP,local police,and station staff.

-Public announcements and awareness measures were taken to ensure passenger cooperation and minimal disruption.

The RPF ensured that all security operations were conducted with minimal inconvenience to passengers, maintaining a balance between safety and service.

The drill provided valuable insights into operational readiness and helped identify areas for improvement in emergency response protocols.

The South Western Railway,SBC Division,reaffirms its commitment to the safety and security of passengers and staff,and continues to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding railway assets and infrastructure.
