“This shows Congress Party’s decline in patriotism”

At a time when our country has faced a terrorist attack and tensions between India and Pakistan are escalating to the brink of war,the statements made by senior Congress leaders raise doubts as to whether they ever ruled this country for 55 years, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

This shows the Congress party’s sense of patriotism is clearly in decline.

In a press release,he said that during the Congress’s tenure,India suffered defeat in the war with China, and during their rule, several terrorist attacks occurred in cities like Mumbai,Delhi,Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, yet no action was taken.

During the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008,where 130 innocent lives were lost, there was an intelligence failure beforehand, and afterwards, the Congress-led government decided not to take any retaliatory action against the terrorists.Congress leaders seem to have forgotten this, he noted.

Bommai said at the very least, during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s time, when she went to war, she listened to then army chief Sam Manekshaw’s advice.

At that time, all opposition parties stood in support of the government.Without remembering such instances, the Congress is now acting irresponsibly as an opposition party, and this clearly reflects their declining patriotism.

The MP slammed the Congress for indulging in politics at such a critical time and said they will have to answer to the people in the coming days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already empowered the three armed forces to make the necessary preparations and take appropriate decisions at the right time, considering all aspects of war readiness.

It is our duty as a nation to stand united with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Congress should at least understand their responsibility.

They must realize that their statements are strengthening Pakistan’s position”, he added.
