The Ramanagar cyber crime police on Tuesday arrested a govt school teacher and registered an FIR against an woman who claimed to be the wife of former Congress MP DK Suresh.
Based on the complaint filed by Pradeepa T,a Ramanagar based advocate,the police charged the woman under Sections 237 (using as true such declaration knowing it to be false),319 (cheating by personation),336 (forgery) and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) of BNS and Section 66D (cheating by personation by using computer resource) of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
According to the complainant,the woman,who claims to be Pavitra Dodalahalli,claimed that she was Suresh’s wife through posts on her Facebook and Instagram accounts.
The complainant also alleged that the woman posted photographs of DK Suresh,edited along with her pictures, and also used Congress party logo in some of the pictures.
On April 8,the woman posted a video on her Instagram account.In that,she claimed that she was proud of Suresh’s work as an MP and that she was happy to be his wife,the FIR noted.
On March 22,the woman posted a screenshot of her elector’s ID on her Instagram account. In that,under the husband’s name,it was written as DK Suresh,the FIR stated .
The complainant told the police that through these,the woman was falsely claiming to be Suresh’s wife and cheating the public.We have initiated a probe based on the complaint,” a police officer said.
It may be recalled that in December the Chandra Layout police have booked a cheating case against Aishwarya Gowda who claimed to be the sister of former Congress MP D.K.Suresh and cheated a city-based jeweller of ₹8.41 crore.
The accused was arrested and the case is being probed by ED for money laundering .
