A 45-year-old autorickshaw driver was killed when a roadside tree fell on him during heavy rain lashed in the city on Wednesday night.
The deceased Mahesh resident of Ittamadu was returning home.He was passing by at 43A bus stop, Kathriguppe Main road at 7:30 pm when huge roadside tree crashed on his autorickshaw.
The other motorists passing by had a narrow escape while a car parked near by also damaged .
The police,BESCOM and BBMP officials rushed to the spot blocked the traffic on the either side of the road.
They struggled to remove the body which was crushed along with the autorickshaw.The officials cut the branches to remove the body and were taken to the hospital.
The police alerted the family of the deceased and recorded their statement.
A case of un natural death has been registered in CK Acchukattu police station for further investigation.
