A massive cleanliness drive has been organized in the BBMP limits,and approximately 3,570 tons of waste/building debris has been cleared from 458 locations in two days.
The cleanliness drive, which has been organized for 10 days across the city,is actively being carried out in all the zones,and the Zonal Commissioners are also personally visiting the places where the cleanliness work is being done and supervising it.
All the officers/staff working in Bangalore Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) are personally present at the places where the cleanliness work is being done and are working hard to successfully complete the clearance operation.
Waste,C&D waste,and wooden logs/branches on the roadside and in vacant lots within the BBMP limits are being cleared.
*Identification of 1,533 locations:
1,533 locations in 8 zones of the city have been identified with waste/C&D waste,out of which approximately 3,570 tons of waste have already been cleared in 458, 30% locations.The remaining 1075 locations will be cleared soon.
*Using JCBs and Tippers for waste clearance :
Cleaning work is being carried out in eight zones of the city using more than 13 JCBs,more than 10 tippers, more than 60 tractors, and more than 170 personnel.
*Appeal to citizens not to throw waste on the roadside:
We appeal to all citizens not to throw waste on the roadside or in empty spaces in the city but to give waste to the auto tippers that visit every house and collect waste daily.
*Call the 1533,BBMP helpline if you see places where garbage is being thrown:
If you see places where garbage is being thrown in the city, you can call the corporation’s helpline number, 1533, and complain.
