Tension gripped for sometime inside the Lalbagh Botanical garden when a group of drunk youth of Nepal origin clashed with another group over a trivial row while playing Holi on Saturday evening.
The accused attacked each others with sticks,hurled abuses and exchanged kicks and punches creating a fear psychosis among the other visitors .
A umbrella seller identified as Amar,who intervened to pacify them was also beaten up black and blue .
Few visitors alerted the security who rushed to the spot and after unable to contain the fight alerted the control room.
The Siddapura police rushed to the spot dispersed the agitated crowd and shifted the injured Amar to a private hospital where he is recovering .
The Siddapura police have also taken up a suo-motu case and arrested three people involved in the clash while efforts are on to track down the others,who are on the run.
It is a negligence on part of the Lalbagh administration for their lack of security measures.The security checks failed to ensure the visitors carried liquor and color inside the park which was prohibited .
They also failed to ensure proper patrolling to ensure law and order especially during festive season.
DCP South division,Lokesh Jagalasar,said that the the situation was due to two families clashed over trivial row which was brought under control .
The patrolling inside the lalbagh has also been revived and security has been upgraded to ensure no such incidents are repeated .
