Ashwini Vaishnaw,Minister of Railways,Reviews Ongoing and Proposed Railway Projects in Bengaluru

A shwini Vaishnaw,Minister of Railways,chaired a meeting today at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office in Bengaluru to review the progress of various ongoing and proposed railway projects in the region.

Arvind Srivastava,General Manager/South Western Railway (GM/SWR);Chandra Vir Raman,General Manager/Rail Wheel Factory (GM/RWF);Ajay Sharma, Chief Administrative Officer,Construction;Amitesh Kumar Sinha,Divisional Railway Manager,Bengaluru;along with senior railway officials and officers from K-RIDE,Metro, and RLDA participated in the meeting.

During the meeting,Vaishnaw reviewed the status of several important railway projects,including the proposed Circular Railway Project,Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project,procurement of rolling stocks for suburban rail,the doubling of the Baiyyappanahalli–Hosur (48 km) and Yeshwanthpur–Channasandra (21.7 km) sections.

Additionally,the progress of Bengaluru Metro Rail Projects,the proposed Hubballi-Ankola Railway Line,and the performance of the Rail Wheel Factory at Yelahanka were also discussed in detail.

Union Minister of Railways appreciated the unique methodology being adopted by KRIDE to eliminate 6 level crossing gates between Hebbal and Banaswadi by raising the railway track so as to provide Road under bridges at these locations.

It was also informed that five additional subway will be also constructed to facilitate bengalureans easy access across the track which is not possible today .

He reviewed the proposed redevelopment of KSR Bengaluru Station,a project expected to significantly improve infrastructure and commuter facilities.

Vaishnaw stressed the need to expedite the completion of these projects to ensure timely delivery and operational efficiency.He emphasized the importance of these projects in decongesting the city’s traffic.

The Minister emphasized the importance of planning railway projects with long-term requirements in mind, ensuring they cater to the growing demands of the region.

He also advised adopting advanced technologies for maintenance to further enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
