Highlights of the meeting

* Take immediate action for implementation of budget programmes.

* Work orders should be issued at your level and DCs, Zilla Panchayat CEOs should oversee the implementation.

* Budget lays emphasis on infrastructure projects. DPR, land acquisition, estimation and tendering processes should be completed swiftly.

* Tender process for all the infrastructure projects should be completed before August.

* Identification of schools for construction of 6500 new classrooms should be completed before July.

* Perfect coordination should be ensured among various departments for speedy upgradation of Primary Health Centres and construction of new student hostels.

* Accord priority for Railways, Ports and other infrastructure projects.

* Make immediate preparations for setting up 10 new Chemotherapy centres for Cancer patients and 60,000 new Dialysis Cycles for renal ailment patients.

* Ensure speedy clearance of files.

* Centrally sponsored programmes should be implemented effectively.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday instructed the senior officers to ensure time-bound implementation of welfare programmes for the poor.

The Chief Minister was interacting with media persons after chairing a meeting of all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries to induce greater dynamism into the administration, speedy file clearance and other issues.

“We discussed speedy implementation of all budget programmes, better coordination to avoid delays.

Instructions were issued to implement the system for direct transfer of various benefits for SC, ST and OBC communities before the end of June. Government’s welfare programmes should reach even the last man in social order. The officials should work in this direction,” Bommai said.

Officials were told in clear terms to speed up land acquisition, tendering and other processes for time-bound implementation of development projects.

Greater dynamism and efficiency is needed in the administration.Benefits of the government’s welfare programmes should reach the common man.The meeting was held to fulfill these objectives of the government, Bommai said.

Instructions were issued to implement the recommendations of the Administrative Reforms Commission to reduce the layers in the decision making process, Bommai said.
