Four Boys With Cancer Become Police Officers For A Day

o observe world cancer day in more meaningful way, the city police on Tuesday went beyond their duty of maintaining law and order they became dream weavers.

In a heart warming gesture,City police commissioner B. Dayananda made four cancer-affected children-Pallavi , Vishwas,Jeevan and Divyashri as honorary police officers for a day,giving them a rare opportunity to experience their dream of wearing khaki uniform and sharing the Dias with the City Police Chief after receiving the guard of honour.

The event,held at Traffic management centre was filled with excitement and emotion.The four children two boys and two girls,dressed in specially tailored police uniforms,were welcomed with a grand salute by senior officers.Mr.Dayananda welcomed them with a bouquet and mementos while the other senior police officers took them around the TMC to show how they manage the traffic of the city.

Under the guidance of experienced officers,the children were taken through various activities,including patrolling in police vehicles,interacting with officers,and even giving mock commands to junior personnel.

They visited the control room,where they saw how the police monitor the city and respond to emergencies.For a few hours,they were not just patients fighting an illness but heroes in uniform,commanding respect and admiration

Speaking on the occasion,Mr.Dayananda shared a message and calling upon the people to follow traffic rules.

“Life is precious and not to be wasted for silly reasons. Death is unavoidable if people on road follow traffic rules as as a duty.Live for something and do not die for nothing“,he said .

He also said that how the cancer affecting the health of the people and medical fraternity fighting against it day and night to save lives, the city police is fighting crime which is cancerous to the society .

The children sharing their joy and said that they wanted to be police officers and fight crime when they grow up while one of the child wanted to join army to fight external enemies .

Turning dreams into reality! On World Cancer Day, Bengaluru City Police,in collaboration with Parihar and Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology,is honored to fulfill the dreams of pediatric cancer fighters.

Today,Vishwas,Jeevan Kumar,Danamma,and Divyashree, aged 12 to 14 who are undergoing treatment at Kidwai Hospital,will visit the Office of the Commissioner of Police,Bengaluru, to experience the life of a “Police officer for a day”.

This heartwarming initiative aims to inspire and bring joy to these brave children.

The event also highlights the importance of road safety, with a visit to the Traffic Police Museum and a deeper understanding of how Bengaluru’s police work tirelessly to save lives on the roads.
