Haveri:Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai said he is not aspiring for the position of state president but he will focus on uniting the party,”said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to the media in Haveri on Thursday,he responded to a question about his name being speculated for the BJP state president position.

Bommai said his name and other name may be mentioned on social media, but none of it is significant. He is not an aspirant as his focus is on uniting the party.

” In party organization, everyone holds power.Strength comes only when everyone works together. We don’t have the illusion of building the party single-handedly. The BJP is a party deeply rooted in people’s hearts.

At times, competition may arise.During such times, senior leaders guide us with harmony, and we must follow their directions.Shivraj Singh Chouhan will come from the central leadership, and under his guidance, the election will proceed harmoniously,” he added.

Amicable settlement

Asked about the ongoing verbal conflict between former minister B Sriramulu and MLA Janardhana Reddy, the MP said both Sriramulu and Reddy are old and close friends, even more than him and others.

Sometimes, gaps may arise between close friends, but in the end, friendship prevails. Everything will be resolved. ” I will personally talk to Janardhana Reddy. From the party’s perspective, I will meet both of them and make efforts to resolve the issue amicably”.
