Ex-serviceman jumps in front of approaching Metro train in Bengaluru, saved by alert staff

A lert metro staff rescued a man who jumped on the track while the train was heading towards the Jalahalli metro station on green line .

The pilot suddenly stopped the train and the staff jumped and pulled him out.

The incident occurred at around 10.30 am and the metro service was suspended for around 15 minutes.

The metro officials admitted the man to hospital and alerted the police who are probing further to ascertain the cause of his extreme step.

According to the official release,A person named Mr. ANIL KUMAR PANDEY,Ex Airforce from BIHAR aged around 49 years jumped on the track while the train was approaching at Jalahalli metro station today at about 10.25 hrs.

Upon the incident Immediately Emergency Trip System ETS was operated and rescued him by BMRCL Staff & Team.

As per preliminary information No injuries reported.
The normalcy of train services on the entire GREEN LINE was resumed at 10.50 hrs.

From 10.25 hrs to 10.50 hrs 4 trains were operated in a short loop between Yeshwanthpur & Slik Institute instead of up to Madavara Metro station during this period says BMRCL Chief Public Relation Officer.
