The Sudduguntepalya police have arrested a 35-year-old SIM card distributor of a private company and recovered seven motorcycles worth Rs.15 lakh from him.
The accused according to the police Shiraj Sameer, resident of tannery road had learnt the art of stealing locked bikes from youtube and started targeting Royal Enfield bikes parked outside the houses in and around Suddunguntepalya .
Using his skills the accused had stolen seven bikes rode to Belagavi and Nasik and parked them in isolated places waiting for the customers to sell them.
Following a bike theft case,the police analysed over 100 CCTV cameras before zeroing in on Sameer at his rented house in Sudduguntepalya .
Based on his confession,the police recovered the stolen bikes parked near bus stand,Market and forest office in Balagavi and one bike was also recovered from Tandalawadi vilage in Nasik in Maharastra where the accused had sold it to a villager without documents for a throwaway price .
