Bengaluru New Year celebrations: No whistles full face mask among revellers Says Bengaluru Police Chief B Dayananda

ours before the New Year Celebration City Police Commissioner B.Dayananda advised people to refrain from using whistles and full face mask for the revellers citing law and order concern .

The decision was taken following few stray incidents from the previous year when the overuse of whistles caused chaos,drowning out public announcements and emergency warnings.

Additionally,full-face masks were flagged as a security risk,with lawbreakers using them to conceal their identities during thefts and vandalism additionally drones will also be used in crowded and sensitive places and we have set up Command Centre vehicle too to keep a watch on revellers 360 degree cameras been installed in MG Road.

Using this some anti social elements may take advantage and involved in eve teasing,harassment and public nuisance and hence it has been decided to ban them ,he said,he reiterated that as many as 11,830 police personnel along with 93 platoons of KSRP and CAR have been deployed to ensure law and order in the CBD area and also in other parts of the city where large congregations for new year celebrations are expected .

The police personnel have been briefed to keep an eye on trouble maker and take strict action immediately .
