ISRO chief S. Somnath responded to the delay in the SpaceX launch, saying it was due to a traffic jam in space.
Internet Desk: It is known that the last launch of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) this year has been postponed. Reacting to this, ISRO Chairman S. Somnath explained the reason for the delay in the SpaDeX launch. He said that the launch, which was supposed to be carried out on time, was disrupted due to traffic jams in space.
“There was a traffic jam in space. This situation was caused by other satellites connecting in the same orbit as the rocket. Due to this, the launch was delayed by two minutes. Instead of 9.58 am, we rescheduled it to 10 am and 15 pm,” Somnath revealed in an interview given to a leading national media outlet. However, this is not the first time that a launch has been delayed due to such an incident in orbit. The Chandrayaan-3 mission in 2023 also had to be postponed by a few minutes.
Experts at ISRO have identified some Starlink satellites coming this way. They said that currently 7,000 satellites of the Starlink complex are in the lower part of the Earth’s orbit. Scientists from various space agencies say that these huge constellations have been causing traffic jams in space for a long time. Moreover, they warn that there is a huge danger to satellites due to space debris
Meanwhile, PSLV C-60 will lift off from the first launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHARC). PSLV C-60 will launch the chaser and target satellites through a SpaceX launch. The weight of these two satellites is 440 kg. After the countdown process for the launch began, a traffic jam occurred in space. Due to this, the launch was rescheduled for a delay of two minutes.
