Southeast CEN Police arrested Six including woman interstate fraudsters involved in a cyber fraud case to the tune of Rs.56 Lakhs

he Southeast Division cyber crime police on Monday arrested a gang of six including a 23-year-old woman for cheating accountant of a private firm and made away with Rs.56 lakh on December 6.

The accused has been identified as,Grishma Reddy,who is CA and also working as assistant director and script writer for a Telugu film and her associates,N.Dinesh,24, also CA and working in a Telugu film industry,Harath MS, 23,VA Pawan Kumar,24,CA,N Sai Kumar,22,B com and a cab driver by profession and Yenumala,32,a PU drop out and working as assistant director in a Telugu movie.

Senior officer said the accused messaged Vasudha Meghashyam Dighole,posing as MD of her company using the company logo and a name in the DP, informing her to transfer informing her to transfer Rs.56,00,100 towards project advance deposit to an account number .

After transferring the money,she called the MD to confirm and came to realized that it was a cyber fraud.

Based on the complaint,the police track down the accused through money trail and arrested Sai Kumar,the cab driver where the money was transferred .

The accused according to the police withdraw the money and purchased crypto currency by cash and sold the same through a mobile app for a higher price .

Based on the confession the police arrested the rest of the accused and recovered mobile phones, an car and cash Rs.56,600 from them.

The police team also freezed a bank account used by the accused to hoard Rs.5 lakh cash was deposited by the accused .

The police have taken three accused into custody after realizing that they had committed similar offences .

Appreciating the police team for cracking the case,City Police Commissioner B.Dayananda has requested people not to entertain unknown calls or the links they receive .

Citing the increasing incidents of cyber crime through digital arrest,Mr.Dayananda said that the police nor any investigating agencies have provision for any digital arrest nor authorised to seek the personal details over the phone.

People should not be worried or scared about the calls from unknown people claiming to be with TRAI or police seeking personal details,he said.
