The KR Puram police on Monday arrested a gang of three habitual offenders and recovered cash and four two wheelers worth Rs.4.6 lakh from them.
The accused had broke in into Kote Venkataramanaswamy temple and made away with the cash from the donation box in November 29.
Based on the complaint filed by the priest of the temple, the police analysed several CCTV footage and arrested the accused from their home town in Gorantla in Andhra Pradesh.
Based on their confession,the police have recovered four two wheelers which they have stolen from different parts of the city which the accused had used to commit the crime .
The accused had parked the stolen bikes at an isolated place on Hosakote-Chintamani highway and also kept Rs.1.6 lakh cash at the boot space of one of the vehicle .
The police seized the bikes out of which one belonging to Kaggalipura police station bike theft case.The police are now trying to track down the owners of the remaining three bikes .
