he Vidhana Soudha police have registered a forgery case against a police constable for submitting fake degree to get the Police Sub Inspector Posting under sports quota .
Based on the complaint filed by Sahana BM,section superintendent,recruitment section of the city police commissioner’s office the Vidhana Soudha police have boked Paigambar Nadaf,police constable attached to Bharathi nagar police station on Tuesday for further investigations.
The accused was selected under constable post in 2021 under sports quota and again he was among the nine constables considered for promotion in July 2024 for Police Sub Inspector’s post under the same quota.
One of the requirement of the promotion is that the candidates must have completed graduation.The accused had submitted copies of the degree from Mysore university which have been sent to the university for verification.
The university sent a report denying that it has not issued any such certificate to Nadaf and termed as fake .
Based on the report,the accused has been suspended and a case has been registered at the jurisdictional VIdhana Soudha police for further investigation.
The police are now probing to ascertain from where and how Nadaf has sourced the certificates from said a senior officer.
