oreign Division post office situated in Chamarajapet once again emerged as major transit point of international drug smuggling racket unearthed by CCB officials recently.
The CCB officials based on a tip raided the post office along with the canine squad which detected 626 parcels landed at the post office for various destination in and around the city found containing narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The parcels were seized and sent it to FSL for further examination.
The accused were using the postal department as safe transit to smuggle drugs which was earlier also registered many cases in this regard.
These parcels were coming to city from different destinations across the world since 2018.
City police commissioner,B.Dayananda who had declared zero tolerance against drug menace supervising the investigation.
