In order to ensure discipline among the force and tackle work pressure in the festive season, the city traffic police have been instructed that they will not be entitled for any offs for the next 10 days .
In a review meeting held recently,Joint commissioner of Police, traffic,MN Anucheth instructed his staff no weekly off or incident off will be given for the staff unless it amounts to medical emergency.
This according to him is to response to the additional work for the festive season for the next ten days where the city traffic police will be deployed to neighbouring districts for traffic management .
Pulling up the traffic policemen on ground zero for expressing lackadaisical attitude on duty,Mr.Anucheth had instructed the police personnel not to sit on their motorcycle parked on roadside cross legged on duty.
Many police personnel according to the advisory, seen sitting on parked bikes and booking cases or while on special drives this should not be repeated as the force is known for discipline and integrity .
The police personnel should wear caps and reflective jackets compulsorily, the advisory stated.
Strict action would be initiated against the police personnel who found violating these orders and they will be solely held responsible for their action, the advisory stated.
The Cobra, traffic patrolling police personnel should keep their tabs switch on while on duty and any negligence on their part who should act as first responders for any eventuality, will be considered seriously .
While some senior police officials welcome the advisory, many police personnel vent their frustration alleging more work no offs for festive seasons.

Even though there are fixed work hour, many personnel on working on ground end up doing over 10 hours duty invariably.
The work pressure has increased after home minister G Parameshwar during senior police officers meet asked for more traffic police presence at the junctions to manage traffic and keep an eye on violations, which according to Parameshwar will reduce drastically due to police presence .
