Speeding Car toppled into road side canal Three KPTCL employee killed in accident

Three KPTCL employees were killed and another severely injured when the car they were travelling lost control and toppled into the roadside canal in the outskirts of Gouribidanur in Chikkaballapura on Thursday night .

The deceased have been identified as Venugopal,34, Sridhar,35 and Manjappa,35.They are working as mechanics and linemen in Gouribidanur town.

Senior officer told reporters,the trio was heading to rectify the defected line and Venugopal was driving the car .

Since it was raining and night,Venugopal suspected to be driving in rash and negligent manner lost control over his car and toppled into the canal .

The impact was so high that there were killed on the spot and one among them thrown out and stuck in the tree trunk .

Ironically though the accident occurred in the mid night the incident came to light in the early hours when passers by noticed and alerted the police.

The Gouribidanur rural police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the post mortem and the injured who is being treated at the hospital .

Based on the complaint filed by Junior engineer,the police have registered a case of death due to negligence against Venugopal,who was driving the car, for further investigation.

Two killed four others injured in another road accident
In another incident,a private firm employee and a college student was killed and three others injured when a car knocked them down on Hosakote Chintamani national highway in the early hours of Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Jagadisha, 30 from Hosakote and working in a private was returning home on his two wheeler,while Mohammed Faiz, resident of Shivajinagar was returning home after dinner with friends at a roadside hotel .

The injured Abbas,Abbas Pasha and Abuzar,friend of Faiz and college students and Mohammed Sami, employee of the hotel sustained severe injuries and are being treated at the hospital.

According to the police,the accused identified as Pragatish Rao,was drunk and driving home knocked down Sami while he was returning home from hotel where he was working.

While Sami was thrown up and crashed on the road, Rao did not stop the car and drove in rash and negligent way and knocked down Jagadish Faiz and his friends who were riding bikes killing two of them on the spot .

Passers-by rushed to the help and managed to stop the Rao before alerting the police.While the police are busy shifting the bodies and injured to the hospital Rao taking advantage of the situation managed to flee .

The police later track him down and arrested on Friday afternoon and taken him into custody for three days.

Inquiries revealed that Rao was working as medical representative and quit his job and addicted to alcohol. He used to stay away from home most of the time and come home drunk.

On The fateful day,his parents called and shouted at him for staying away from home late night.Rao who was drunk went back to the bar got drunk again and had dinner before heading home when the accident occurred .

The Hosakote police subjected him for medical examination which proved that he was under the influence of alcohol,The police are investigating further to ascertain whether he had consumed other drugs for further investigations.
