A transgender woman was allegedly murdered at the Majestic BMTC bus stand in Bengaluru for just Rs.200.
The Upparpet police have arrested the accused,identified as Gautham (29)of Ramamurthy Nagar.
Senior officer told reporters that Gautham arrived at Majestic on a Dio bike late Thursday night and allegedly approached the transgender woman,identified as Devi, and demanded Rs.200.
When she refused to give him the money,Gautham allegedly attacked her on the head with a dagger.
He then snatched her bag and mobile phone before stabbing her three more times.
The accused allegedly fled the spot with the mobile phone and Rs.200 found in the bag.Devi succumbed to the stab injuries at the spot.
We suspect that Gautham,who allegedly used to commit robberies at night,killed Devi during the robbery.
He was subsequently traced and arrested by the Upparpet police,who are continuing their investigation.
