house belonging to a private firm employee was gutted and goods worth lakhs destroyed in an accidental fire broke out while charging electric scooter at the house in magadi town in Ramanagara district in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident occurred at around 4 am when house owner Lakshmi Narasimha woke up to the burnt smell and found the bike which was kept for charging was on fire .
He tried to douse the fire after alerting the inmates of the house,but by then the fire had spread to the other parts.
With no option left,he pushed the burning bike outside the house and sustained burn injuries on his hands and legs and face in the melee.
The residents rushed to the help and disconnected the power supply and help to douse the fire thus preventing a major accident.However electric and electronic goods worth lakhs gutted in the fire .
The Magadi town police who are aware of the incident are now awaiting complaint from the victim to initiate investigation.
