Wall painter turned mobile lifter who used to pick pocket mobile phones in crowded places arrested by Parappana Agrahara police and recovered 60 stolen mobile phones worth Rs.10 Lakhs

T he Parappana Agrahara police on tuesday arrested a 20-year-old wall painter and recovered 60 stolen mobile phones worth Rs.10 lakh from him.

The accused N Raviteja,from East Godhavari district travels in crowded buses and steal mobile phones from the passengers .

Based on the complaint filed by one of the victim on August 25,a team of police in mufti deployed to probe the case and the police team travelled in buses to keep an eye.

The police zeroed in on Raviteja and caught him red handed while he was trying to steal the phone.The police recovered a bag he was carrying and found 60 mobile phones which he had stolen in the last one week.

The accused would sell the stolen android phones to throw away prices at his native while remove the parts of the I phones and sell it in grey market part by part.This is according to the police is to avoid being caught .

The accused has been remanded to judicial custody while the police are probing further to track down the owners of the lost phones.
