Chitradurga man fighting police ill treatment torches his scooter opposite to Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru,lands in custody

anic gripped among the people for sometime when a 27-year-old man set fire to his scooter on the busy Dr. Ambedkar Veedhi in front Vidhana Soudha before creating ruckus on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Pruthviraj,a resident of Yeshwantpur,rode up to Ambedkar Veedhi in the heart of the city and torched his scooter just opposite the Vidhana Soudha.

Police personnel deployed for security and traffic duty along with the passers shocked to see the accused created ruckus and shouting and hurling abuses , before he was detained by the security personnel and doused the fire with the help of fire and emergency service personnel .

The accused was taken to the cubbon park police and initial probe revealed that he was working in a private firm and was angry with the police for their rude behaviour.

Prithviraj told the police that he wanted to grab the attention people to vent his ire on the police for behaving rudely with his mother.

The accused said that he was infuriated by the Challakere police who allegedly humiliated and heckled his mother when she went to file a missing complaint and later manhandled him when he went to question their rude behaviour.

Further probe revealed that Pritviraj had gone for a trekking in Shivamogga in July and was briefly unreachable during the expedition .

Anxious mother when went to the Challakere police, seeking help,the police shooed her away and even humiliated and heckled her .

When he came back and went to question their indifferent behavior,Challakere police allegedly abused and manhandled him .

Over a month after the incident,Raj set his two-wheeler on fire to avenge the incident and raise his voice against the police.

However,all these are claims made by Raj, but the police are yet to corroborate his statement .

The Vidhana Soudha police registered a case of public nuisance, mischief by fire against him for further investigation.
