Senior IPS officer B.Dayananda (1994 batch) has been promoted to officiate in the grade of Director General of Police (DGP) with retrospective effect from September 12,2025.
Dayananda,who was serving as Additional Director General of Police,Training,Bengaluru,has been posted with immediate effect as DGP,Internal Security Division (ISD),against the vacant post.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on Monday,the promotion carries the Level-16 pay scale under the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
The government has also declared the post of DGP, Internal Security Division equivalent in status and responsibilities to the cadre post of DGP,Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under Rule 12 of the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Dayananda’s appointment comes as part of the latest senior-level changes in the Karnataka police administration.
