aking strong exception on police personnel misusing social media on duty,City police commissioner B Dayananda warned the police personnel not to make reels in uniform and put it on social media .
In a circular issued on Monday,Mr.Dayananda said that the image of the department known for discipline, commitment and dedication will have dent from this act where police personnel are creating reels in uniform about un related topics and uploading on social media.
Creating reels on uniform is not only amounting to indiscipline but also against the rules of the department,he warned.
The social media platform where public opinion is created and has an impact on the society will damage the reputation of the department by indulging in such acts.
He directed the unit heads and divisional head of the city to ensure such acts should not be continued and asked them to take strict action.
The social media unit of the city police have also been asked to keep a vigil and monitor such activities of the police personnel on social media and report the matter to the seniors for further action.
