embers of Gou Gyan Foundation on Sunday rescued as many as 60 cattle tied near a mosque to be sacrificed for the up coming Bakrid festival scheduled on Thursday .
Nandini Matiyani,member of the foundation in her complaint said that she along with her staff found 60 cattle tied on roadside near Bilal moque in Bapujinagar,Shamanna garden.
Upon inquiry she found that the cattle comprising of cows and calves were bought and were up for sacrifice on the festival day.
She alerted the police and rescued the cattle before filing a complaint with the Byatarayanapura police.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against unknown person for selling the cattle for slaughter charging him under Karnataka Prevention of cow slaughter and cattle prevention act for further investigations.
