The Central Crime Branch officials are on the lookout for a conman who impersonating as PA to Chief Minister cheated District Health Officer of Bagalakote and made away with seven lakh for eight months.
The victim,Dr.Jayashree M realized that she has been cheated after meeting the officials concerned and filed a complaint with the CCB on Monday.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case of cheating impersonation and also under IT act for further investigation.
The victim in her complaint said that she was on leave when Dr.Rajkumar Yaragal had come with official transfer order to join as newly transferred DHO on August 11 last year.
After Jayashree returned from leave,she refused to handover the charges and approached the KAT and got the order to continue working in the same post until further orders.
Few days later Dr.Jayashree came to Vidhana Soudha to meet seniors in the department on official call.
During this period she received a call from unknown number and the caller claiming to be Ramaiah,retired KAS officer and presently working as PA to CM.
Ramaiah explained her situation and the KAT case and offered to help in return of the financial favours.
Hoping that she would get relief, Dr.Jayashree through her relative transferred Rs.50,000 to Ramaiah online.
Using the MO,the accused continued to demand and accepted a total sum of Rs.7 lakh until she through her acquaintance verified the identity and realized that she had been cheated .
