BJP’s Union Minister,Santanu Thakur accused to provide free license to run business at India–Bangladesh International Border

Abhijit Ray,

Kolkata :Union Minister of State for Shipping and Ports Shantanu Thakur has been accused of aiding and abetting smuggling at Bangaoun–Bangladesh international border.

It is known that this member of the Modi cabinet is giving written permission on his official letterhead to many people to carry out business of various products freely in the international border areas.

The letter is reaching the Border Security Force (BSF) officials who are responsible for guarding the India-Bangladesh international border.

In that way, close persons of Union Minister are easily obtaining business permits for business at international border.

Allegedly, the letter of the Union Minister is being used as a ‘legitimate acknowledgment of trafficking’ by a class of unscrupulous traders.

Because,by showing it,you will be freed from BSF search-interrogation.As a result,Swarupnagar, Ghiradanga,Hakimpur,Kitinda,Petrapole have become a paradise for smuggling.

Such a written recommendation of Shantanu Tagore has been seen recently. It appears that the Union Minister has given such approval to a person named Ziarul Ghazi on his letterhead on July 2.Resident of Ziarul Hakimpur (booth number 96).

Shantanubabu recommended that he be given a license to deal in 3 kg of beef in the border area. This letter has been given to the officer in charge of 85th battalion of BSF.

This member of Matua Thakur’s house became MP for the second time after winning on BJP ticket.Once again got a place in the central cabinet.

The RSS is furious that he is thus directly encouraging the beef business. On Saturday,Lalit Aggarwal, coordinator of the West Bengal branch of the Sangh’s ‘Go-Seva Movement’,said,’It is surprising that the Union Minister is involved in such illegal matters! I will inform the top officials of RSS.

Regarding this controversy,Shantanubabu was sent several messages on phone and WhatsApp, but there was no response.

His aide Tanmoy Biswas promised to talk to the minister after hearing the whole matter over the phone. But after that he could not be reached.

However,a BSF official, who did not wish to be named, said, “We do not allow such business to be run on such recommendations.”The whole thing is illegal.

That recommendation letter will be examined.Recently BJP faced a huge loss in West Bengal at Lok Sabha polls.
