Special Drive by BTP:About 1600 cases booked against erring autorickshaw drivers by West Division Traffic Cops for violating various traffic violations.

T he West Division Traffic Police launch special drive against erring autorickshaw drivers and booked over 1600 cases against them in last 2 days

Based on the complaints that autorickshaw drivers involved in traffic violations and plying vehicles without required driving licenses,the traffic police conducted surprise checks posing as customers caught over 300 drivers demanding excess fares while 400 drivers refused to go on hire .

The police also booked 583 drivers for violating various traffic rules and three among them plying without Driving licenses.

The drive will continue in other parts of the city to check erring drivers and necessary legal action will be initiated against them,MN Anucheth,Joint commissioner of police (Traffic), said.

Meanwhile In the east division,traffic police inspected the Outer Ring Road,Kalkere Main Road,Ramamurthy Nagar Main Road,Whitefield Main Road,and ITPL Main Road.

They booked 182 drivers for wrong-side driving on these roads and registered over 50 cases against vehicle users for parking on the footpaths.

Additionally,they removed nearly 100 billboards on footpaths outside commercial establishments.

In the South,traffic police took up a drive against footpath riding,registering a total of 176 cases against violators across stations.

The highest number of cases at 31 were booked in the Banashankari police station limits.
