The Mysuru Railway Police on Thursday arrested a 34-year-old cook from Mysuru and recovered laptops and mobile phones worth 10.2 lakh from him.
Based on a complaint of a laptop bag belonging to a techie that was stolen from the moving train,the railway police stepped up vigil and zeroed in on Sudhindra while he was moving suspiciously with a laptop bag .
A detailed questioning led him to confess to the crime .
The accused told the police that he lost his job and had financial trouble.
The accused started stealing valuables from passengers on the train and sold it to his contacts for throwaway prices.
